The Eyes Have It

terre d'Oc Natural Kohl Eyeliner

Eyeliner is one of this seasons key make-up trends and this one is for me is a real winner! Ok, it does look a little bit scary at first glance, however think of it as a wax crayon; pretty foolproof (although this probably tastes nicer!).

Many kohl pencils are very hard and can leave debris and kohl shards in their wake, which can get into and irritate the eye, this doesn't. The terre d'Oc kohl crayon is a smooth, versatile liner that can be applied directly or using a firm liner or angle brush. It feels light on application and it glides onto the skin with ease, leaving a soft line. Once the crayon warms up, it has a super creamy texture which means that it is even easier to build up the colour to your desired intensity.

terre d'Oc kohl contains sweet almond, pistachio and sesame oils which soothe and nourish but also make application so much easier on the delicate skin around the eyes. There is no drag and it can easily be smudged and blended to soften the line, this also means that you can take the colour beyond the lash line without discomfort; either onto the lid as a base for eyeshadow or up into the socket line to add shade and definition.

Untouched, it also has really good staying power, thanks to the cocoa butter within. Many Kohl's loose their intensity and impact, especially when applied to the waterline. This however, sits there quite happily, looking glossy and fresh and with the same intensity of colour. The only negative thing I would say is that because of it's creamy nature, it never really sets, so it will move if rubbed.

There are six gorgeous shades in the range; an intense black, plum purple, soft grey, earthy brown, a beautiful emerald green and a striking blue. I love this kohl liner, it is a must-have staple of my kit. I have yet to work my way through all the shades but I am on a mission to do so!

terre d'Oc natural kohl eyeliner is priced between £12.00 and £14.00 for a very cute 3g tube. There doesn't seem a lot of product for the price but it does last; terre d'Oc have designed the liner with environmental responsibility in mind, ensuring that the packaging is kept as minimal as possible whilst guaranteeing the same weight in product as conventional liners.

terre d'Oc was established in 1995 to celebrate the ochres (pigments) of Provence and make them widely available by way of producing a range of decorative objects and art materials. In 2003 terre d'Oc launched their skincare and cosmetics range using fairly traded, organic ingredients. The range is completely cruelty free, suitable for vegans and is EcoCert certified.

  1. What happens when you get down to the fatter bit of the eyeliner...do you sharpen it in a pencil sharpener?
